Setting things up

Ah, the little gremlins that hide away in the details… getting a webpage to work right is one little thing after another.  Sigh. Fun though!

The RSS subscription and commenting parts of the blog may not be running yet. Soon I will be posting some background info plus the table of contents of the new edition.

And I’ll be making it a bit more legible too in terms of fonts and backgrounds.  All in good time.

On your mark….

First, thank you to everyone who has purchased The Mediator’s Handbook and passed the word along to others. It’s now been in print since 1982, and with a “real” publishing house since 1997. We’ve done virtually nothing to promote it, and it continues to sell a steady number every year. We are honored that you found it that useful.

It is with both embarrassment and trepidation that I’m setting out to finish a new edition. Embarrassment because sheesh, we wrote this version a light year ago, and it needs significant updating. Trepidation because … hey if it has made sense to several generations of mediators, can we keep it simple and accessible, and yet avoid laying out a system that is simplistic or ineffective?

I decided to start this separate blog and website to invite readers and mediators to comment on various portions of the draft revisions. With luck and your input, it will help me FINISH the project, and come out with a new book that is useful for another decade.

Off to the races!
